The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.1 percent between last November and January, but total employment and labor force figures saw a slight decline compared to the previous three-month period, according to the latest data released by the Census and Statistics Department on Tuesday.
The underemployment rate also remained at 1.1 percent, unchanged from the previous three-month period.
Total employment fell by around 2,300 from 3,718,900 in the October-December 2024 period to 3,716,600 for November 2024-January 2025. The labor force also declined by about 5,700 to 3,826,700.
The number of unemployed individuals dropped by approximately 3,500 while the underemployed number remained largely unchanged.
